ABOUT US
We are a friendly and approachable mortgage advice company based in South London. We operate under the guidance of a national mortgage network which means we work with a huge range of mortgage lenders – including ones that you can’t access directly as a consumer. So, we are ideally placed to find the most appropriate mortgage (and protection insurance) for your particular circumstances.
Jo Jingree, our award-winning specialist mortgage adviser, is highly experienced and has been working in the industry since 2000.
At Mortgage Confidence we will support you every step of the way, whether you are a first-time buyer, moving up the property ladder or remortgaging. We can also help if you’re looking for a buy-to-let mortgage, are self-employed or if your credit history isn’t as good as you’d like it to be.
We like to make things as easy and stress free as possible for our clients. Jo is always happy to offer a free, no obligation chat if you’re looking to buy a home or remortgage.

Your first step is to have a conversation with a trusted and experienced mortgage adviser. Here at Mortgage Confidence our mortgage adviser, Jo Jingree, has 20 years experience in the mortgage industry and will have a friendly and informal chat with you. This is usually done over the phone and we discuss your house buying / remortgage plans and basic details about your financial position. This call will usually be about 20 minutes and in this time, if required, Jo will give you an indication of how much you might be able to borrow, what mortgage deals are currently available and the costs involved.

The next step is to complete Mortgage Confidence Fact Find Questionnaire, which can be done via our secure online portal. The Fact Find provides us with detailed information about you, including your income and expenditure which forms the basis of your mortgage application and allows us to give you the most suitable advice. We send you a link, via email, to our secure portal and a separate text (SMS) to your mobile with a secure access code. The Fact Find takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete. It also has the facility for you to securely upload any documents we require for your mortgage application.

The next stage is to meet Jo Jingree, your mortgage adviser, in person. We can meet you at your home, our office or a local café if you prefer. If you live some distance away or prefer not to meet in person due to time constraints, we can offer you a consultation either via video link or phone call. During the meeting we will discuss your needs and preferences and provide you with tailored mortgage advise regarding the different options available to you. Your adviser will then research the whole UK mortgage market and provide you with a personal recommendation for the most suitable mortgage deal which suits your needs and requirements.

Your adviser will usually advise you at this stage that the next step is to apply for a decision in principle from the lender, which we will organise on your behalf. If this is successful, and you have already found a property to buy (in the case of a purchase) we then prepare and submit your application to the lender. At this point, our advice fee is payable. Our standard fee is £399. Please note, we do not charge you a fee until this stage of the process and all our advice until this point (steps 1-3) is given without obligation. Mortgage Confidence will then work closely with the lender to ensure your mortgage is approved. This includes dealing with any underwriting queries that arise. The lender will assess your application and carry out a survey on your property.

If you are remortgaging, on the day of completion, your mortgage is transferred from your existing lender...
If you are remortgaging, on the day of completion, your mortgage is transferred from your existing lender to your new lender. If you are purchasing a property on the day of completion you can collect the keys to your new home and start settling in! However, it is not goodbye from us. Mortgage Confidence will stay in touch with you in the future (with your permission of course) to support you when your mortgage deal comes to an end or when you want to buy your next home.
